Shopper Callboxes
Prompt Personal Service When and Where Needed
Right now, a frustrated shopper in your store wants to buy - but is passing on a desired item or, worse yet, leaving without buying anything at all. In fact, a 2007 Deloitte & Touche survey reveals that 52% of shoppers cite difficulty obtaining sales associate assistance as a key reason for purchase abandonments. Shopper Callboxes enable store teams to avoid these losses and even increase tickets by interfacing with customers
when and where assistance is desired.

It starts with the simple and inviting press of a button
A shopper desiring assistance simply presses the HELP button. Your store team is instantly messaged – and notification quickly escalates if the shopper is not promptly served. The responding associate presses the callbox’s RESET button, canceling the request. Response time and other data are logged for reporting and ongoing improvement.
It is part of your team – it talks like you talk!
If your store team communicates using 2-way radios, then that’s how callbox request messages, such as “Assistance needed in housewares”, are delivered. Other popular methods include pagers, wireless phones
(audio or text), WiFi PDA’s, and overhead speakers. Indyme expands integrations as new communication devices become available for retail store use so your system continues to work for your shoppers and team for years to come.

For example, a shopper pressing HELP at cameras may hear about the newest camera, a message which may be sponsored by the manufacturer. Messages can be downloaded to callboxes chain-wide using Indyme’s Enterprise Web Services engine.

Callbox wireless technologies – WiFi and UHF
A minimum system comprises shopper callboxes and an Indyme Connect™ Platform, which routes messaging based on callbox activity. Wireless technology is a key consideration when defining a system:
WiFi – Callbox security-enabled signals route through the store’s wireless (802.11b) network to ConnectTM for processing. Maintenance updates and interactive data also route from Connect to each WiFi callbox.

UHF Radio – Callbox signals route through one or more Indyme receiver/repeaters to ConnectTM for processing. Systems are available in the 300, 400, 800, and 900 MHz bands. Most of these feature bidirectional protocols supporting downloads of maintenance updates and interactive data though some legacy 300 MHz systems are unidirectional.
